Mina didn’t follow a straight path into venture.

He started young — solving problems, taking risks, and learning how to back people when it counts.

He built and exited companies across healthcare and deep tech. Before that, he worked through the full arc of healthtech — from pharmacy counters to formulation labs, from tablet machines to blockbuster launches.

He stayed close to the science — writing codes for drug discovery as an undergrad, then earning a PhD in Oncology at Oxford. But what stood out wasn’t the research. It was how rarely it reached the people who needed it.

He saw breakthroughs stall. Traditional biotech VCs struggled with AI-native models. Generalist investors avoided technical complexity. The system lacked alignment — and conviction.

That became fuel. Mina founded Panacea - moving with the same clarity, urgency, high stakes and complexity Mina once faced as a founder himself.

Years founding and investing at the coalface taught him what data rooms don’t show: The early stage is warped. Time, ownership, identity — they bend under pressure.

Panacea was shaped in that reality. To de-risk not just markets, but founders. To move with urgency, clarity, and conviction. To continuously reinvent itself — in a market that punishes inertia.

Ramana is a natural problem solver and dealmaker, having spent the past 15 years as both an Investment banker and early stage investor at the confluence of novel tech and bio. He shares a deep passion for applying innovative technology to unlock and engineer cutting edge science, driving the next evolution in healthcare technologies. 

With a global perspective and network, having lived and worked across Africa, Asia, Europe and the U.K., he brings a unique understanding in identifying, nurturing and building breakthrough science - including entrepreneurship having spun out, commercialised and sold his final year design project. Closing multiple award winning mandates spanning M&A, Capital Raising and Business Development, he now works closely with portfolio companies to maximise both their value creation and value capture. 

He holds a research Masters in Biomedical Engineering and Honours degrees in both Biomedical and Electronic Engineering, with a keen interest in Rugby, F1, Music and Adventure Travel. 

Will Brooks

Partner — The Venture Capitalist

Having an early career in biomedical and clinical research at the universities of Dundee and Munich and helping to build the oncology company Antisoma, Will now has over 25 years in healthcare investment fund management and venture capital, Will’s expertise includes fund management, investment identification, valuation, SME management, business development, commercialisation, and exit planning. He has played a key role in building and growing three investment funds: Quest for Growth, Downing Ventures, and Panacea Capital and held multiple NED positions.

He has successfully completed more than 25 investments in early-stage companies.

His comprehensive understanding of the business and financial development of health technology companies has been acquired at a European level with investments being made in the UK, Europe and the USA. He has considerable expertise in identifying technology and securing investment funding for companies at various stages of development. This expertise having been used as an advisor to Scottish Enterprise, The European Commission, European Investment Bank and Innovate UK.
